Software engineer London, United Kingdom

I build software that helps people do meaningful work.

I've been building for the web since 2001 — long enough to remember hand-coding HTML in Notepad, short enough to still get excited about a clean API. I spent most of my career in Nigeria, and I'm now based in the UK.

Right now I work at Fera Science in York, building software that helps support scientific research, testing, and services across food, agriculture, and the environment.

I grew up in Nigeria and started tinkering with websites in the early 2000s, back when the web was mostly tables and guestbooks. What began as curiosity became a craft, and in 2009 it became my profession.

Since then I've worked across the full stack — designing databases, building REST APIs, shaping user interfaces, and leading small teams. I've shipped software for hospitals, energy companies, religious organisations, and now for scientists.

When I see a problem, I design a solution around it.

That's always been my approach. It's why I ended up building a medical app that connects rural patients to doctors in under ten minutes. It's why I rewrote a legacy codebase that was holding a team back. It's why I care about the small details — the error messages, the loading states, the way a form feels when it works.

Outside of work, I am interested in developer tools, good documentation, music creation, and the quiet craft of making software that does not get in the way.
I also enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures, exploring nature, art and film.
And yeah, I do fancy getting lost in a good game.

2025—

Software Engineer

Fera Science Ltd · York

Building internal software for a UK applied-science organisation that works on food safety, environmental protection, and sustainable agriculture. The work is a mix of maintaining existing systems, building new tools for scientific teams, and figuring out how to make complex data slightly less painful to work with.

2025

Senior Software Engineer

Terabyte Limited · Lagos

Led a complete rewrite of a legacy codebase — the kind of project where you spend the first month just understanding what the old system actually does. Reduced defects by over 30% by introducing peer review and better workflows. Mentored junior developers and ran practical training sessions for interns.

2024—25

Web Developer

Canteen Mobil · Lagos

Built REST APIs in PHP and MySQL for web and mobile applications. Designed UI mockups and interactive prototypes. Refactored database queries and improved response times by roughly 43%.

2024—25

Software Engineer

Lawrence Energy Services Limited · Lagos

Designed and built a custom ERP platform in Laravel and Livewire that replaced a tangle of manual spreadsheets. Automated quotation, VAT pricing, invoicing, and letter generation. The quotation approval process went from taking two weeks to under thirty minutes.

2023—25

Fullstack Developer, Lead

WOWCatholic Limited · Abuja

Led a small team building HarvestPad, a donation platform for religious groups. Built a voting system for a national talent competition. Integrated multiple payment gateways — Flutterwave, Paystack, SquadCo, and Monnify. Cut email costs by 24% and sorted out a domain blacklisting issue that had been causing headaches.

2020—25

API Engineer

247Medic Limited · Benin

Designed the backend infrastructure for a mobile healthcare platform. Built versioned REST APIs, wrote documentation in Postman, and optimised data synchronisation to reduce latency by 35%. Helped shape the branding and UI/UX for the mobile app.

In 2019, my co-founder Stephen Osawaru and I were recognised by Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi at the World Youth Forum for building 247 Medic. We were among 14 recipients that year.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission called us "great patriots." I don't know about that — we just built something that solved a problem we'd seen first-hand. But it was a strange, lovely moment, and it's still the project I get asked about most.
